Forum Topic: Where Can I Buy Prednisone?
Post by SunshineGlow
Hey everyone,
I've been dealing with some serious allergies lately and my doctor prescribed me some prednisone. It seems to work wonders! However, I'm not sure where exactly I can buy it online. Could anyone share their experience on this? Is there a safe place to purchase it?
Thanks in advance!

Hi SunshineGlow,
Before we proceed, it's important to clarify that purchasing medications like prednisone online without a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider is illegal and potentially dangerous. Prednisone is a powerful steroid with several side effects if not used correctly.
Can you share more about your situation? Maybe I can offer some advice on how to manage your allergies legally and safely?

Thanks, DrMed!
I understand the seriousness of using prednisone without proper guidance. My doctor had indeed prescribed it during my last visit. However, due to a recent move and losing all my old prescriptions, I’m in need again but don’t want to go through the hassle of seeing another doctor.
Any recommendations for where to get it legally? Or how I can obtain another prescription?

I understand your predicament, SunshineGlow. Losing important documents like prescriptions is frustrating and inconvenient.
The best and safest way to get prednisone is to schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider who can assess your condition and prescribe you the medication legally. If you're in a rush or prefer not to visit a physical clinic due to time constraints, telemedicine services might be a convenient alternative.
Telehealth platforms like Teladoc or Doctor on Demand allow you to consult with licensed physicians over video calls. They can evaluate your symptoms and issue a prescription if necessary. This way, you ensure that the medication is prescribed appropriately and safely for your condition.
Additionally, once you have a valid prescription from a doctor, you can fill it at any licensed pharmacy in your area or use an online pharmacy service linked to your local pharmacy for home delivery. Just make sure the online pharmacy is registered with FDA and has proper accreditation.

Thank you so much, DrMed!
That sounds like a practical solution. I’ll check out some of those telehealth platforms and see if they can help me get another prescription.
Is there anything specific I should mention during the consultation to make sure they prescribe prednisone? And are there any risks or side effects I should be aware of?

You're welcome, SunshineGlow!
During your consultation with a telehealth provider, it’s important to provide accurate information about your condition and symptoms. Mention that you had been prescribed prednisone before for the same issue and found relief from it. However, don't insist on getting prednisone if the doctor feels another medication might be more suitable or safer based on your current health status.
Some common side effects of prednisone include:- Increased appetite and weight gain- Insomnia- Mood swings or irritability- Increased blood pressure- Osteoporosis (in long-term use)- Susceptibility to infections
Always take medications as prescribed and monitor any adverse reactions. Follow-up with your healthcare provider if you experience any severe side effects.
Also, ensure that the telehealth service you choose has a legitimate connection to a pharmacy so that getting your prescription filled is seamless.

Got it! I’ll keep an eye out for those side effects and be sure not to pressure the doctor into prescribing prednisone if they feel it’s not appropriate.
Thanks again, DrMed! Your advice has been really helpful!
